1. I hope for the good work of God
While the son of al-Tabakhshiyya is condemned
١. إِنّي لَآمُلُ صُنعَ اللَهِ في حَسَنٍ
وَاِبنُ الطَبَخشِيَةِ اللَكعاءِ مَذمومُ
2. When the straying one makes a pact with me, I see no one deprived
Nor does misfortune cling to me
٢. إِذا تَواصى بِيَ الطائِيُّ لَم أَرَ لِل
حِرمانِ شَخصاً وَلَم يَعلُق بِيَ الشومُ
3. A man once wronged me whose fathers
And whose lineage was blamed
٣. قَد كانَ ناكَدَني فيهِ اِمرُؤٌ سَلَكَت
آباؤُهُ وَجَرى في عِرقِهِ اللومُ
4. Now the one who is not of fault or oppressed aids me
When the full moon rose, it mobilized
٤. فَالآنَ يَنصُرُني مَن لَيسَ جانِبُهُ
بِمُستَضامٍ وَلا مَولاهُ مَهضومُ
5. The noble Arabs and Romans alike
٥. مَتى أَهابَ بِبَدرٍ يَستَجيشُ بِهِ
تَناصَرَ العَرَبُ الأَشرافُ وَالرومُ
