1. Tears have invalidated concealment's argument
And instead the eyes found rest from sleeplessness.
١. أَبطَلَ الدَمعُ حُجَّةَ الكِتمانِ
وَإِستَراحَ الكَرى مِنَ الأَجفانِ
2. Yet when the heart considers returning to it,
Sorrows rebuke and disquiet him intensely.
٢. فَإِذا هَمَّ بِالرُجوعِ إِلَيها
خاصَمَتهُ وَساوِسُ الأَحزانِ
