1. Longing, I asked for the coolness of faded twilight,
Longing for a lingering evening that lingered on.

2. The era of rain has studied
Abstaining from what you used to promise.

3. And indeed, this passion redoubles
With companions like the timid gazelle.

4. It dictates the passions of youth
To the hearts of those with endurance.

5. From every weak, trembling branch,
Or the supple branches of the lote trees, more supple,

6. A branch that heals you if it should lean
Towards you, incline or be affectionate;

7. With the gestures of the gentle wind
And the rose-red blush of the tinted cheek;

8. I said to the pure-hearted travelers, their guide wrongs and intends;
The most deluded - father of Muhammad!

9. And when the beauties turn away
Their systems of beauty are ephemeral.

10. Whatever length and excellence you desire,
And of generosity and favor,

11. That hoped-for one, revered and envied,
Brother of generosity, excellence, forbearance and praise,

12. One whom none blames for loyalty
Nor reproaches nor seeks to destroy.

13. He counseled the Caliphs, gathering
The parts of the scattered union,

14. And established amidst the severity of affairs
That insisted on discord,

15. With the soundness of keen opinion
And purity of detached resolve.

16. For each new matter,
A singular policy or measure.

17. He does not reiterate hollow words regarding it
Nor uncertain opinion.

18. A guess that reveals the unseen
If he ponders it or intends it,

19. Like an unsheathed sword,
And a spark when it is lit.

20. The politics a means between
Leniency and firmness,

21. Other than immersion in the base
And emptiness when alone.

22. Like the sword - it cuts sheathed
And it awes naked.

23. Good fortune is completed for you and
Exaltation and superiority remain yours.

24. So you are more truthful than the cloud's
Dew, and more generous.

25. The affliction of Ahmad saddened me
And when you command, Ahmad obeys.

26. I will not deny accelerating what
You put forth of opinion and promise.
