1. If your prayers are but scraps of paper
Signed with names and palms,
١. إِذا كانَت صِلاتُكُمُ رِقاعاً
تُوَقَّعُ بِالأَنامِلِ وَالأَكُفِّ
2. And if these scraps bring no benefit,
Then here is my line, take it for a thousand thousand
٢. وَلَم تَكُنِ الرِقاعُ تَجُرُّ نَفعاً
فَها خَطّي خُذوهُ بِأَلفِ أَلفِ
