33. You extinguished the fire of hostility from them, though it had blazed
And you repelled the fangs of evil from them, and turned it away

34. Until when the pillars of guidance began to incline
And justice shook in its regions, it collapsed

35. You entered, seeking and victorious through God
Indignant, protecting His religion, zealous

36. When they saw you charging death in the fences of their fortresses
Repelling, with a piercing blow

37. And your horses at night, chanting to it
Holding fast the ropes of the Romans, bundled tight

38. Whether he escapes, defeated, galloping, the spears
Have trampled the shoulder of the escapee and stood still

39. If you straighten the path of religion and it becomes upright
You will not see ravines in it, nor crookedness

40. So from you there has not ceased to be a fortress sought for refuge
Whenever the insolent ones, in their youth, rage

41. To you the little groups gently threw their reins
Willingly, so their nation became united

42. If not for your defense, the kingdom would have been seized
The nation divided, and the matter disputed

43. By God, you are a burning millstone
When the path is aflame with youthful folly and twigs

44. When the complaints of religion went too far and wearied him
Nothing but your sword could cure those complaints

45. As for the licentious, they have cast aside their sticks
Where gifts are, at the abode, and plenty overflowed

46. They saw you the most generous of people, sufficient refuge
And most impregnable fortress for the needy, sheltering wing

47. Your vast tent was not narrow when they descended
Nor was the hospitality meager or inadequate

48. When men mention a noble deed
They are immersed in joy or your ascension ennobles them

49. Through you, the dispossessed, deprived one is elated
Avenging the days and the oppressed

50. Through your length, the days turned away
From my field, and the turns of fate receded

51. It suffices me, your generosity, pride with which I seek aid
Against afflictions, whenever they become tangled, and it is enough
