In what the ardent lover hopes for?

2. Why did I miss you in my dreams, while you remained
The aid of longing, when the yearner is shunned?

3. Are you forbidden from visiting, obedient,
To them? Is the illusory reflection forbidden too?

4. Today destiny’s portion passed me by,
And I knew I am a lover.

5. So may Hasan ibn Wahb rejoice that
He meets his loved ones while we bid farewell.
