1. He narrated a love story among the wings fluttering
And a branch of date palm in the garden of the heart being sold

2. So I laid my cheek on the ground in submission
A beloved saw my humiliation as I came humbly

3. Yet he turned away from me while refusing reconciliation
Sleeplessness surely tormented the eye of his lover

4. And the fire of passion still rages in his heart
He sees my illness though he knows its cure

5. I was keen to succeed in getting close to him
And he would grant me union but he wasn't generous in giving

6. A sick one whose heart was split by the sword of separation
When he wants reunion he misses his goal

7. And when he denied me and I complained of his estrangement
I swore an oath not to ask for his love

8. Truly I have no credibility in my oath
I see tears flowing down my cheek

9. And the love of passion scattered in anxiety and grief
And disturbs me at night when turtledoves coo

10. Calling for union between springtime and foothills
And when the preacher recited Suhayr and Zamzam

11. I remembered living in Mecca which passed
I say as tears flow down my cheeks

12. May God protect Mecca's inhabitants and quench Mecca's thirst
With my tearful downpour so it suffices instead of rain

13. I lost my patience when their she-camels walked
My chest tightened when their journey quickened

14. Adorned she-camels and on the day they left it saddened me
I thought our union would last if not for their separation

15. They hurt my eyelids and innermost being with leanness and wounds
Don't they know what the heart has harvested?

16. And they didn't have mercy on one spending nights knocking his teeth
He wishes for reunion and separation opposes his assumption

17. I warned about indifference - I didn't say it would
Reach an extent, though it was in jest

18. May God shepherd those who didn't observe my right to companionship
Though my love for them was sincere

19. I call upon them in my extreme sadness and anguish
It's forbidden for me to live after loved ones

20. They cast fire and burning passion into my heart without flint
I die of yearning then live by remembering them

21. And hide what I encountered to protect their secret
They shot me with an arrow of betrayal over their betrayal

22. The sword of my patience completely failed against their abandonment
And the witness of the illness of love suffices instead of explanation

23. My critic, leave me be, I've lost my pleasures
For you've never been one day my savior from separation

24. When the fine scent blows from that Mecca
We spurred our camels proudly for the One

25. Who made this our capital for winning and profit
Through it the Aqsa Mosque became adorned and its grounds

26. And it reached the seven heavens in height
Loving it and following it is an obligation upon us

27. Praising it became beautiful to me and listening to it is delightful
So my tongue doesn't tire of praise

28. A generous one whose hands contain favors and gifts
Without him we wouldn't know the guide to truth

29. He progressed beyond limits and horizons
A guardian who guided us from misguidance to guidance

30. As one is guided from the darkness of night by dawn
I survived through him when I took "muhajja" as my theme

31. And I dived deep into the seas of passion
I praised the one sent to people as proof

32. His face narrated the shining sun in splendor
And his cheekbones were like musk in scattering and opening

33. Indeed, one who visited the ground of the Master was successful
And attained from the Lord of the Throne his every goal

34. Without him we wouldn't have heard an adhan from a mosque
I praised my hearing for praising Muhammad

35. And that is the path of truth, righteousness and success
Polytheism from his light is gloomy

36. And they couldn't enjoy a good life and drink
Flags for him are spread east and west

37. He protected our religion with Mecca and Thuwaiba
And God's victory came heralding the opening

38. A guide to his nation, very affectionate
Waters of generosity overflow from his generous hand

39. Through him we appeared mighty over every transgressor
We performed Hajj and visited the grave of the best Master

40. He guided us to the paths of guidance with good advice
Through him his supporters took pride and his in-laws

41. They boasted of him when his miracles appeared
The generous one fulfills his promises - his qualities are pure

42. His morals are honest and his attributes are sublime
He is generous with the ignorant through pardon and forgiveness

43. Affectionate, merciful, possessing knowledge and happiness
The highest honor is his, steadfast on guidance

44. With his light one is guided from the darkness of night
My yearning for him always remains

45. I stay awake at night from extreme ecstasy like when I wake up
Hearts find guidance and are guided by his tradition

46. And live and enjoy eternal bliss
A prophet who contained pride with the best birth

47. We spurred mounts of passion toward Muhammad
And said perhaps we will attain the light in a glance

48. With it hearts find guidance and are guided
