Mocking difficulties

Balconies watching the dawn

4. Or Arab tribes traveling
Between peaks and plateaus

5. They stood like those who have lost their way
So they sang the beauty of destiny

6. Or they are jinn
Not to be harmed

7. Their eyes roamed
Between those plateaus

8. How many conquerors they saw yet
No door opened for them to return

9. O Baalbek, be patient
For the day of judgement comes

10. As if Lebanon near you
Is the dreadful King's brow

11. And both of you were made
A target for conquest and raid

12. So the King is hostage to the conquerors
Humbled as the veil ripped
