1. Others are struck by a mere whim, wishing
For recovery from this momentary lapse;
١. جُنَّ غَيري بِعارِضٍ فَترجّى
أَهلُهُ أَن يَفيقَ عَمّا قَريبِ
2. Yet my heart is afflicted by two lasting blows,
An illness too profound for any physician's cure.
٢. وَفُؤادي بِعارضين مُصابٌ
فَهوَ داءٌ أَعيا دَواءَ الطَبيبِ
