1. A paradise was built for what the soul desires
And for what delights the eyes of the insightful

2. Its land is of marble and pearls of shells
Brought from the springs of the seas

3. Its ceiling they drowned in pure gold
And its walls they covered in silk

4. Then its doors inlaid with ivory, ebony and crystal
The rivers of wine replaced with water

5. And the houris of paradise with the heavenly maidens
Of youths excused and well-mannered

6. Who are good at lying above the beds
With silk pillows adorned with rubies

7. Resting atop their chests
The young men serving them

8. With jugs of aged wines
Of the lineage of Japheth, son of Noah they were born

9. Formed with the best of skill
Images like suns shining in light

10. Wearing in war skins of tigers
So they are in strength cubs of lions

11. And in repose resembling heavenly maidens
Foreigners in nature like beasts

12. Refined by the kindnesses of civilization
And transition from merchant to chief

13. In bounty, bliss and joy
With narrow seducing eyes and slender

14. Roman noses and faces like full moons
And hair that if braided would be

15. Like the oncoming rain for the stream
So if they let down their hair it would cover

16. The pages of the full moons with darkness
What faith remains for one seduced

17. By the doe-eyed gazelle and the charming fawn
The rubbing of lips with a kiss sipping

18. And bosoms touching atop bosoms
And a meeting with the standing bud of a cheek

19. And listening to the lute and tambourine
This is the life of kings so whoever is deprived

20. Of this lives in misery
