1. If I cast my affection towards you, it won't be cut off
And if I brought back my heart from you, it won't return

2. When I remember you openly or secretly
I find your love engraved on my heart

3. This is enough for me to preserve afterwards
A lineage that leaves unity instead of separation

4. Why is it that when I want, I am not given what I wish for
And if I sought acceptance from you, you refused haughtily

5. And if I interceded, I faced refusal from you, yet if
Another intercedes for me, he gets what he interceded for

6. By Allah, I have no sin that makes me deserve
This refusal from you or this rejection and disdain from you

7. And if I recalled a sin, I would have been bent double by it
Until I cut up my heart underneath it into pieces

8. O most generous of people in morals and defender
And most noble of people in actions and helper

9. Do not listen to the slander from a fault-finder who beautifies it
Slander is not praiseworthy when it is heard

10. You and I are like the pole of a tent so do not
Accept from the envious ones lies and fraud
