1. I shortened my stay at the small monastery,
And left without anything of mine being safeguarded.

2. It was to me a place for comfort and youthfulness,
With debts I did not hesitate to repay.

3. When the bell rang early I was quick to drink,
And my faith differed from the bells' religions.

4. I lay intoxicated among cups of wine,
The plucking of strings, and the glances of eyes.

5. Pleasures did not rend the veil of my integrity,
Nor did sins therein corrupt my certainty.
