3. Stop by the Euphratesโ water and pause
Like the stopping of a youth making excuses

ููููู ุงูุตุจู ูุนุชูุฐุฑ
4. For one to whom he longs
With no patience for remembering him

5. For there time lies in wait
And youth flows pressing the wine

6. O dweller in al-Qatul, no distance
Of days and fate has come between us

ุนููู ุจู ุงูุฃูุงู
ู ูุงูููุฏูุฑ
7. All the hope in my soul
I fold for you and store away

8. And soon triumph may visit you from me
A triumph the like of which was never seen

A good life without bitterness
