1. The heart heard no prohibition from the warner,
Nor did it become diverted by the distractor.

2. It plays when I complain of one preoccupied
With other than me, though the heart is not neglectful of him.

3. By God, I'd say to the one I love,
"Ah," just to find some rest in "Ah."

4. So let him be unjust and drag it out with me -
I love none but the oppressor and the procrastinator.

5. It's as though his eye were a bare sword
Upon me - the Almighty's sword!

6. The King, inheritor of the Imamate from
