1. Whenever I compose for you an ode of praise,
My words flow eloquently and smoothly.

2. But if I attempt eulogy for another,
My tongue locks up and my words ring hollow.

3. For you are inherently virtuous and noble,
Generosity ingrained in your very nature.

4. You are rain gracing the parched wilderness,
Your face radiant as the glowing morning star.

5. You shine brightly with your own light,
You who are most beloved and pleasing.

6. Through you our days were set right after wrongdoing,
And unruly time itself was subdued.

7. Nowruz and Eid shine brightly
With your light, auspicious and joyful.

8. So live, making the times prosperous with triumph!
For if not inhabited by you, they will fall to ruin.

9. God's blessings upon you, son of his Prophet,
For you are the seasoned sword for every hardship!
