Her charms surpass all magic utterly.

2. Her wooer deems her yellow locks to be
Pure gold that flows in brilliancy set free.

3. As if the veil of modesty in her
Were but a sickness that intoxicates.

4. Her gentle words seem to have blended quite
The sweet of union and the wish to unite.

5. Her speech is like goodwill or pleasure ta'en
After displeasure and estrangement's pain.

6. Be it short, no tediousness therein lies,
Or long, no frothy verbosity implies.

7. Her heavy hips, as she walks, undulate
As though she trod on rubbish or on fire.

8. She seems a moon on bough that comes to sight
From out a night of hair that shames the night.

9. Proving all absolute beauty's yellow hue,
As vines exude a yellow juice for you.

10. When softly stepping, her soft steps suggest
The movements of a wave that swells the breast

11. Of seas, and she appears to tread upon
Hot iron or sharp sabres, and walks on.

12. Chide not her lover, for he's fully worth
Her breaking even the best laws on earth!
