And what the ages have brought you

2. A conquest, great is its position, until
It is too great to be matched

3. Iraq's prisoners have become yours
And its people seek your pardon

4. Their hearts flew, perturbed
Until the chests could not contain them

5. You brought war upon them in Syria
Which shook Iraq's throne

6. The defiant submitted to you and it cast
Its affairs into your palms

7. So you are the tongue of Ali's pride
And the full bright moon of its kings

8. Commander of the Faithful, I am, for my Lord
Grateful for what He has endowed you with
