1. The breeze halted at the meadow's edge
And the wave clapped the north wind's pride

2. And I think the Tigris surrendered, or else
I saw the bridge bisect its waistband

3. And the edifice of glory planted in it
Planted the trees of crafts around it

4. The orbit depicted as if
It was created before its existence and rotated

5. And built on the honor of treasure its palace
And pitched on the orbit of bliss its house

6. So the masons polish its sides for it
And the carpenters carve its blossoms

7. It occupied our thoughts and glanced our eyes
Since it started composing its motifs into poems

8. The wider example if crossed its mind
And reached the sky whenever its abode ascended

9. It forgot the giant describing its news
And insulted Egypt counting its towns
