1. I wonder at those whose status has risen
And Allah has made them self-sufficient and free from worries

2. How do they not split their lifetime
Between two states: luxury and discipline

3. An hour to indulge himself
With choice food and drink

4. And be close to beautiful maidens
When he craves amusement and play

5. At times serious and at other times at ease
And when night falls he stands up

6. So he spends his days enjoying his due
And spends the nights doing what he must

7. These are the parts one should follow
To have happiness, guidance, and success
