1. The roses in his cheeks blush more each dawn
For the eyes of his lover who praises the garden
١. غَدَا وَغَدَا تَوَرُّدُ وَجْنَتَيْهِ
لِعَيْنِ مُحِبِّهِ يَصِفُ الرِّيَاضَا
2. His cheeks are like refreshing water
That reddens when the watcher looks upon them
٢. عَلَى خَدَّيْهِ مَاءٌ عَسْجَدِيٌّ
إِذَا نَظَرَ الرَقِيْبُ إِلَيْهِ غَاضَا
3. Some hope for heavenly paradise
While I hope for a scent or a kiss from him
٣. يُؤَمِّلُ جَنَّةَ الفِرْدَوْسِ قَوْمٌ
وَآمُلُ مِنْهُ شَمَّا أَوْ عِضَاضَا
4. He is a gazelle - the nearer I draw
The further he flees and recoils
٤. غَزَالٌ كُلَّمَا ازْدَدْتُ اقْتِرَابَاً
إِلَيْهِ زَادَ بُعْدَاً وانْقِبَاضَا
5. I concealed my love till tears flowed free
And made of it talk heard far and wide
٥. كَتَمْتُ هَوَاهُ حَتَّى فَاضَ دَمْعِي
فَصَيَّرَهُ حَدِيْثَاً مُسْتَفَاضَا
