1. When I saw their camels all packed up,
And my tears flowed from the pain of parting,

2. And she called to me from behind the curtain,
That the mixed company was leaving at sunset,

3. I said, "Lift the curtain that we may enjoy our stance,
For the sun has not yet hidden your flawless face."

4. She then revealed her face though the sun was setting,
And night passed with no camel leaving its place.

5. They did not notice the sunset when she traveled
From her face which lit up the plain and the hill,

6. Until when we had our fill of each other
She hid her face in the darkness, and they bore the camel.
