1. A pen whose ink is dust
In pages whose lines are reckoning
١. وَقَلَمٌ مِدَادُهُ تُرَابُ
في صُحُفٍ سُطُورُها حِسابُ
2. Much erasing and crossing out therein
Without blackening the book
٢. يَكْثُرُ فيها المحْوُ والإضْرَابُ
مِنْ غَيْرِ أنْ يُسوِّدَ الكتابَ
3. Until truth and right are made clear
No cryptic letters or obscurity therein
٣. حَتَّى يَبِينَ الحقُّ والصَّوابُ
وليس إِعْجامٌ ولا إِغْرَابُ
4. No doubt or confusion
٤. فيهِ ولا شَكٌّ ولا ارتِيَابُ
