1. O morning breeze, your love has kindled a fire in my heart
And taken up residence there, never to depart
١. يا صَبْوَ حُبِّكَ في الأَحْشَاءِ قّدْ قَدَحَا
وحَلَّ مُسْتَوْطِناً فِيْها فَمَا بَرِحَا
2. I complain to you of eyelids that never close
Afflicted by insomnia, their soreness grows
٢. أَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ جُفُوناً ما يَجِفُّ لَهَا
غَرْبٌ يَسِيْحُ وما قِيْهِنَّ قَدْ قَرِحَا
3. And a frail, emaciated body, made ill by disease
Leaving nothing of it but shadow and want
٣. وهَيْكَلاً ناحِلاً أَوْدَى السَّقامُ بِهِ
فَلَمْ يَدَعْ مِنْهُ إلاَّ الرْسْمَ والشَّحَا
4. If one of my hands held nothing
And the other no counterweight, they would not sway
٤. فلو يَكُونُ بإحدى كِفَّتَيْنِ وَلاَ
شيْءَ يُوَزِيْهِ في الأُخرى لَمَا رَجَحَا
