1. I suffer from love of a devout woman

تَشُوبُ بِنُسْكِهَا مَرَحَا

Prayer beads to make me despair
٢. وَقَدْ جَعَلَتْ لِتُوئِسَني
مَكَانَ سِوَارِهَا سُبَحَا
3. When she is spoken of, she pretends
To deny the words of any advisor
٣. تَظَلُّ إِذا ذُكِرَتُ لَها
لِتُكَذِبَ قَوْلَ مَنْ نَصَحَا
4. She frowns at me with the frowning
Of her cheeks overgrown with moles
٤. تَعَضُّ عَلَىَّ بِالإغْرِي
ضِ مِنْ أَطْرافِها البَلَحَا
