1. The image of my beloved circled in seclusion
So I spent the night with utmost intimacy
١. طَافَ خَيَالُ الحَبِيْبِ فِي الغَلَسِ
فَبِتُّ مِنْهُ بِأَعْظَمِ الأُنْسِ
2. The apparition of a beloved I kept his company
Yet boredom overcame him and he forgot
٢. طَيْفُ حَبِيْبٍ حَفِظْتُ خُلَّتَهُ
وَأَدْرَكَتْهُ مَلاَلَةٌ فَنَسِي
3. My night was shortened by his pleasant visit
And my night became longer than my soul
٣. قَصَّرَ لَيْلِي بِطِيْبِ زَوْرَتِهِ
وَكَانَ لَيْلِي أَمَدَّ مِنْ نَفَسِي
