قل لابن مي لا تكن جازعا

1. Tell the son of Mayy not to despair,
No loss befalls the saddlebags.

١. قُل لِاِبنِ مَيٍّ لا تَكُن جازِعاً
لَيسَ عَلى البِرذَونِ مِن فَوتِ

2. His absence has bowed you in confusion,
Yet you were loud of voice in his presence.

٢. طَأطَأَ مِن تيهِكَ فُقدانُهُ
وَكُنتَ فيهِ عالِيَ الصَوتِ

3. You would not dismount from his back,
Even from the Hushsh to the Bayt.

٣. وَكُنتَ لا تَنزِلُ عَن ظَهرِهِ
وَلَو مِنَ الحُشِّ إِلى البَيتِ

4. He did not die a violent death, rather
He died from yearning for death.

٤. ما ماتَ مِن حَتفٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ
ماتَ مِنَ الشَوقِ إِلى المَوتِ
