1. O glance I discreetly stole,
Its end was its beginning's goal,
١. يا نَظرَةً نِلتُها عَلى حَذَرِ
أَوَّلُها كانَ آخِرَ النَظَرِ
2. If they hide you from people's eyes,
For you, from humans I've shut mine;
٢. إِن يَحجُبوها عَنِ العُيونِ فَقَد
حَجَبتُ عَيني لَها عَنِ البَشَرِ
3. Neither separation nor leave taking I lament,
I pine only for veils tightly wrapping.
٣. لا أَشتَكي الهَجرَ وَالفِراقَ وَلا
أَكُمُّ إِلّا مَعاقِدَ الأُزُرِ
