4. Crooked in his grandsires' loins his fate—s—
Madness tilts his spear erect and straight—

5. Neck and withers obedience await—
Greets the buttocks—such are his mates—

6. Shameless member nothing abates—
Hunted game and bared his fangs—

7. Dawn appeared; he gaped and sprang—
Showed himself different from the gang—

8. Freak apart from friends estranged—
Rending earth—he headlong ranged—

9. Jackals followed where he changed—
Cast out by his tribe and kin—

10. Lost his clothes their state within—
From sheep he leads to die therein—

11. Shed your furs! we cried. He grinned—
Sudden as cloud-bank wind dispelled—

12. As babe new-born shines fresh beheld—
Blocked roads—no caution held—

13. Bowed like tree when tempests wield—
Or flames in bushy brakes propelled—
