1. My friend Abu Bishr gave me a draft
Of wine whose taste I'd never known before.
١. سَقاني أَبو بِشرٍ مِنَ الراحِ شَربَةً
لَها لَذَّةٌ ما ذُقتُها لِشَرابِ
2. No hands but those of a fair teenage lad
Distilled this draught from the vine's inmost core.
٢. وَما طَبَخوها غَيرَ أَنَّ غُلامَهُم
مَشى في نَواحي كَرمِها بِشِهابِ
