قد أغتدي والصبح محمر الطرر

1. The dawn has risen, morning blushes crimson,
And the night is heralded by whispers of dawn.

١. قَد أَغتَدي وَالصُبحُ مُحمَرُّ الطُرَر
وَاللَيلُ تَحدوهُ تَباشيرُ السَحَر

2. In its progression, stars like lanterns,
With the splendor of the haloed moon inclined to excuse.

٢. وَفي تَواليهِ نُجومٌ كَالسُرَر
بِسَحَقِ الميعَةِ مَيّالِ العُذَر

3. As though it were the day of the decrepit wager,
A tomorrow shaking off the drops of rain,

٣. كَأَنَّهُ يَومَ الرِهانِ المُحتَضِر
طاوٍ غَدا يَنفُضُ صيبانَ المَطَر

4. From the undulating gait of a distant, moaning camel,
Whose burdened bird circles warily overhead,

٤. عَن زَفِّ مِلحاحٍ بَعيدِ المُنكَدَر
أَقنى يَظَلُّ طَيرُهُ عَلى حَذَر

5. Sheltering beneath the boughs of trees,
That sincerely promise with a glance,

٥. يَلُذنَ مِنهُ تَحتَ أَفنانِ الشَجَر
مِن صادِقِ الوَعدِ طَروحٍ بِالنَظَر

6. As though their eyes were set in solid rock,
Between impenetrable heights, unpierced by needles.

٦. كَأَنَّما عَيناهُ في وَقبَي حَجَر
بَينَ مَآقٍ لَم تُخَرَّق بِالإِبَر
