1. Seek appeasement from the little one with the great
And take her from the hands of a tender leg
١. تَداوَ مِنَ الصَغيرَةِ بِالكَبيرِ
وَخُذها مِن يَدَي ساقٍ غَريرِ
2. And let me be from your crying in desolate places
And in the ruins of homes and houses
٢. وَدَعني مِن بُكائِكَ في عِراصٍ
وَفي أَطلالِ مَنزِلَةٍ وَدورِ
3. And do not drink without joy and play
For horses drink with whistling
٣. وَلا تَشرَب بِلا طَرَبٍ وَلَهوٍ
فَإِنَّ الخَيلَ تَشرَبُ بِالصَفيرِ
4. So drinking is only with amusements
And in movements of bam and zir
٤. فَلَيسَ الشُربُ إِلّا بِالمَلاهي
وَفي الحَرَكاتِ مِن بَمٍّ وَزيرِ
