1. Four upon the ruins which lost
Their landmarks, stars of ill fate,

2. And which solitude inhabits
As the dwelling place of mankind.

And rains left it like a coat of mail.

I am submissive, though I had spirit.

5. I have loosed the knot of my passion
Keeping faith with a morn of parting at sunrise,

6. Yellow the necklace of pearls
Writings of the lord of steeds.

7. It casts its gleam like it
Its tracks avoiding ill fate.

8. As though when it shows them
To the drinkers, juice of sweet flag.

9. And when it is tossed, its toucher
Misses it, like vapor with touch.

10. Matchless in beauty, his cloak
Enwrapped him, of great length and sanctity.

11. If you wish, say a goblet polished
For drinking on the morn of wedding.

12. I guard it from being
Under its waist-wrapper, unclean.

13. He sang to a music returning him
To stir the cup of the oft imprisoned.

14. O best of those whose mount’s litters
Bore the elite with humming talk.

15. So it spoke of him, observing,
With the voice of an elegant, pure one.

16. And he sang, challenging its echoes
For one whose abode is by Lejas.

17. Had there been a priest present
The worship of priests would have poured to him.
