A weight upon us gazing from the nations,

1. A weight upon us gazing from the nations,
When at his leisure, pained are my nostrils.

As cast-lots pierce the gambler in his tent.

To settle gently on my liver's hem.

4. I say, when he appears without appearing,
His footsteps nowhere bringing him to us:

5. I have not lost your image out of blindness,
Nor am I deaf to hear your voice gone dumb.

6. Hide as you will from my beholding eyes,
Even if with a cloak around your face.
