1. With Your pardon, nay, with Your generosity I have been sheltered,
Nay, with Your grace, O Commander of the Faithful.

2. So pardon must not be difficult for me,
For You have encompassed all the worlds with it.

3. For I have not betrayed You behind Your back,
Nor have I resolved within myself to betray.

4. May Allah bless You to be honor for Islam,
And a fortress protecting its eggs, fortified.

5. You have terrified the people of polytheism until
You left them, not murmuring in complaint.

6. You visit them yourself every year,
The visit of one loyal to the severed.

7. And if You wished, You could be content with bliss,
While others endured the bitter ordeal apart from You.

8. So intercede with Your beautiful face for a captive
Who, loving You, professes belief in the Merciful.

9. When abasement befalls the house of a people,
A neighbor like You has no choice but to be abased.
