1. The cat feared the cold night,
And its intentions disturbed them.

2. They vomited the will of the worshipper,
As if their cries were a ship.

3. They brought every open space near,
As if its folds were supple.

4. They spent the night while suns of darkness
Circle in their wake eyes that swim.

5. Their sterns float afloat,
And above them the bodies sway.

6. They see one with a charming coquetry,
That belies all doubts.

7. A strange beauty of unique form,
That eludes likeness and match.

8. My soul left with them, so I stood still,
No movement nor calm within me.

9. And the date palms weep with my tears,
Watered by a constant spring.
