1. I have a fiery slave girl,
Whom I obtained without dowry or price,

2. A non-virgin, yet I have no solution,
She has five daughters of similar age.

3. If I approach her submissively,
she responds favorably,

4. But if I distance myself, she does not come closer.
Her narrowness and breadth are in her marriage,

5. I have achieved while time passes slowly.
When white hair is a blessing,

6. It cascades down adorned backs.
She has nothing of a free woman,

7. No wealth, only softness and intimacy.
She lives in constant toil and labour,

8. Does not complain of poverty or weariness,
She sees right but has no eyes,

9. And hears without ears.
Wherever I come to her and take her,

10. In privacy, places of rest and fatigue.
Then she is not jealous of me

11. If I stare elsewhere.
Oh! What an ideal she is,
