1. We were pleased with the trustee against the times,
So the kingdom became inhabited with meanings,
١. رَضينا بِالأَمينِ عَنِ الزَمانِ
فَأَضحى المُلكُ مَعمورَ المَعاني
2. We wished for something from the days,

٢. تَمَنَّينا عَلى الأَيّامِ شَيئاً
فَقَد بَلَّغنَنا تِلكَ الأَماني
3. With the most blossomed of the sons of Mansur growing
To him belong two successive births,
٣. بِأَزهَرَ مِن بَني المَنصورِ تُنمى
إِلَيهِ وِلادَتانِ لَهُ اِثنَتانِ
4. Not like his two grandmothers, mother of Moses,
When attributed, nor like the dandelions,
٤. وَلَيسَ كَجَدَّتَيهِ أُمِّ موسى
إِذا نُسِبَت وَلا كَالخَيزُرانِ
5. To him belongs Abdel Madan and Thu Ra'yin,
Both his maternal uncles, chosen Yemenis,
٥. لَهُ عَبدُ المَدانِ وَذو رُعَينٍ
كِلا خالَيهِ مُنتَخَبٌ يَماني
6. So whoever denies you blessings, I
With my gratitude, pledge my tongue against fate.
٦. فَمَن يَجحَد بِكَ النُعمى فَإِنّي
بِشُكري الدَهرَ مُرتَهَنُ اللِسانِ
