1. A gazelle dividing the thickets
With eyes that allot among people

2. And hides the misery and trees
In the folds of its heart

3. It describes the full moon and time of darkness
For eyes, its cheeks

4. Glory to Allah, how beautiful is what
Allah has depicted

5. And if the ideal of beauty were embodied
In a person, it would not surpass Him

6. He has an afterlife that resembles
His beauty in this world

7. So if we were to deny Allah
One day, we would worship Him

8. By my soul, whoever distracted me
From my eyes and concealed Him

9. It suffices me that the wings of night
Cover me and cover Him
