1. What should I say, and what can I write?
The fields are abandoned, the houses deserted.

2. My longing for that spilled blood
While people revel, noisy and raucous.

3. Dancers on the blood, on the eyes,
On the skulls! And the most wondrous singing!

4. Flutes entice hearts as intoxication whirls around them!
And the melodies of loss seep through.

5. God bless the youth who detonates himself!
Reviving! While his nation slumbers, absent.

6. So it's as if his sides fill with sorrow,
Anger! And around him none rage.

7. His conscience aflame with determination, its wick
Resolve and sacrifice and truth most victorious.

8. On his forehead tidings shine
Hope lights up and anticipation keeps watch.

9. And his eyes shifted! When there loomed before him
An onslaught, fires pouring and spilling over,

10. Cannons and bombs, and planes circling,
Raining hell, striking.

11. And lo! His tanks charged forth
Pounding harder, its horror unobscured.

12. Houses collapse on their dwellers
Factories fold, people piled up.

13. Blood burst forth in all the squares
Raging there! So who answers, who explains?

14. The blood of childhood cries out! And the wail
Of the bereaved calls! And tears flow.

15. And his eyes shifted! Is there one who has mercy
On earth who melts? Or is tender, bending?

16. So people and the world are as though blind to them
And their hearts on diverse paths wander.

17. Or they are deaf, mute, fooling themselves,
No sunrise alerts them, nor sunset.

18. And his eyes turned, speaking with sorrow
Saying: O world, be alert and watch!

19. Where is the world order? And where is
Each of its committees? Where are wishes and goals?

20. Where are the slogans they once sang,
Then their singing faded, and the singer?

21. Where is brotherhood, justice, and equality
That there are folded, and lie?

22. And his eyes turned, and his conscience turned:
Where are my people, passions and home?!

23. Where is Arabism, peace, and where are the intimate
Ties that are torn, and closest affection?!

24. Where are the slogans roared by the throngs
And where are their paths and ways?

25. And the Muslims! Where are they?! Where are the promises?!
How much they have changed, how they have turned!

26. They called on the world's peoples, leaders! Cried out
To foe and friend and complained!

27. And pleaded! And begged! And groveled!
Who will answer their call, or keep them company?

28. They said: We are anxious! Stop the terrorism! Woe to you!
So who is it that terrorizes?!

29. Who killed the children?! Who ignited
The fires?! Who rages there and inflames?!

30. They said: We will send an envoy to address
What problems he sees, and draw near.

31. How many envoys, O Palestine, have worn
The garb of peace, only to plunder and loot you!

32. The criminals are a gang bound
By the passions of desire, lined up and toiling.

33. And his eyes turned! Where is a negotiator
Who might toil? And where is the knight who vaults?

34. How many halls embellished for an errant
Negotiator who acts or deceives like a fox!

35. And the sheep mill about within, under it
Fangs that shred and tear with each swipe!

36. And his eyes shifted! No stone remains
In the field that can be thrown to frighten.

37. And his eyes shifted! No throng of weapons
Can deter or seep through.

38. And his eyes turned! And the Aqsa moans,
Its bond so harsh, tested on it.

39. And his eyes shifted! And his sides brimmed
With sorrow growing within him, prevailing.

40. When disgrace wraps his nation, can
The steadfast desire disgrace and accept it?

41. There he is, leaping forth! His depths
Ablaze with anger coursing his ribs, kindling.

42. His steps outstrip calamity! Until when
He reaches the fields that churn,

43. His depths erupt and his limbs scatter
And the horizon stains red with him.

44. To remain witnessing that our nation sank
And slept, and above it gathered heavy clouds.

45. And say: If I sinned, the disgrace of those
Who neglected jihad is worse and harder.

46. I destroyed myself? Apart from me it destroyed
A nation, continuing to diminish and weaken.

47. So God forgives whom He wills
With mercy hoped for and grace granted.

48. He would not forgive one who persists
On idolatry and immerses in passions, a stranger.

49. I have seen many give me strange rulings!
While their own state is stranger still.

50. Why do they not rise to what
They decreed, or what is nearer?

51. The rulings no longer benefit me, I am
In the realm of truth that will not be belied.

52. So God alone judges His servants therein,
And the judgment of God is truth realized.

53. So leave my affairs be, and rise for your affairs,
And judge! For that, if you know, is best.

54. Division among you is more harmful to you
And worse than the enemy’s plotting, harshest.

55. Factions tear you apart, through them
You see evil courted, sedition seeping.

56. I detonated myself! Did you open after it
A path to mighty victory drawing near?

57. Why not bring together the Muslim nation, a rank
That takes up the images of jihad and seeks?

58. If the nation of Ahmad does not rise on earth,
Your efforts are wasted, your path lost.
