1. I am al-Aqsa Mosque! These ruins
Are remnants, memories, sorrows and calamities

2. I used to be a safe haven amongst the faithful
Throughout time, they never hesitated to come to me

3. They would huddle around me affectionately
And swords would guard me against them, decisive and stern

4. Attacks came wave after wave with the years
So the mosque shook with the onslaught of attacks

5. When the people lacked weapons, they attacked with their bodies
Hearts overflowed with loyalty and ribs marched on

6. With a promise to God Most High that strengthened their resolve
Certainty that all return to God

7. And that the gardens of eternity are attained through truth
And the arena is purified with blood and events

8. Caravans of light fill the universe with their march
Dawns and horizons shine from them

9. And spread the message of their Lord across the world
And attentive ears in the two directions listen

10. They spread the call and pour torrents
So fields flourish and bloom from their bounty

11. Why have my people today vanished and disappeared?
No more vanguards appear on the horizons

12. Why have my people changed the arena of clamor?
Their battlefields and factories are lost

13. Why are they lost and confused on the path?
Their passions and greed have led them astray

14. A call whose bestowal was so noble no longer rings out
It used to echo in every gathering

15. The arenas of martyrdom were their field
So the homes became their grazing grounds

16. Every day there was a festival that gathered me
And the odes would lament me amidst flowing tears

17. The blood of the faithful was bountiful
Poured out while the souls of martyrs competed

18. Alas! I have become tales of evening gatherings
And a mourner weeping held in embraces

19. What once thundered in the arenas is now
Just a rumor circulating and spreading

20. How I wished their tears were blood
To water and enrich the battlefields

21. Will my own people slaughter me and then weep over me?
Such actions are contemptible!

22. How many traders threw my flesh as merchandise
While goods from it became scarce in the markets

23. One peddles openly, another conceals under guise of faith
All immersed in fraud, disappearing into fighting

24. So I am not just walls that crumble, an arena
But horizons rich and vast

25. The universe reaches out to me with inspiration and mission
A sturdy rope connecting homes

26. Gardens overflowing with fragrance enriching fields and squares
With that fragrance and devotion

27. My veins will throb with life
When the laws connect the homes

28. What life without this is worth aspiring for
When greed tears me from my ribs?

29. One calls out: "It is enough to just survive here”
Another retorts: "We must aspire and build”

30. Around the world defeats cycle
A slogan pronounced, one vanquished wrestling another

31. Today the fist of the criminal clutches me
Deceitful fingers attempt to dislodge me

32. Each day, alas my soul, a spectacle
Passions clash over me, vying for control

33. Behind the scenes, scheming threads are woven
While hopes are pronounced in glowing speeches

34. My agony and humiliation are brushed aside
By rumors and hollow guarantees

35. My body is torn, my core ripped out
As aid is sought while souls surrender

36. They say “liberation” as they broker a deal
With guaranteed witnesses and sellers

37. They proclaim “self-determination” yet it is
Destruction of hope - one sided giving and preventing

38. As wolves and foxes negotiate the lamb
After years of events paving the way

39. They say: “Homeowners know best”
But where are they? To God I plead!

40. And my people! My people are but a nation
With resolve from God on the battlefields

41. A rank that unites all faithful
Like a building: lofty and fortified

42. If Ahmad’s community does not stand up
All hopes in the arenas will be lost

43. Your affection, Aqsa! Your affection
Draws me whenever passions pull me
