1. It thundered not, nor did lightning flash,
Yet it was created for us in its nature,

If water found an outlet it would breach it,

3. We spent the night tossing on our beds
Until dawn appeared with bloodshot eyes,

4. When it was said that departure would be the day after tomorrow
And the house after all had departed would be desolate.
