1. From my island, from my land
The light of truth and guidance shone bright

2. Raised by the Most Pure it grew
White dawn breathed from Badr and 'Uhud's height

3. A light shone from the light which stirred hearts
And brought life, softening rocks with its gentle light

4. It flowed overflowing through earth's peoples
Reviving hearts and healing every hurt

5. It ran and so the world flourished with dew and guidance
Blending together like spirit blended with body

6. And was illuminated by Son of Abdullah, receiving
God's Message, its eternal light shone

7. "Muhammad" best of all God's creation
In character and in manners in ease and in plight

8. With "Gabriel" his companion serving him
Chanting verses that lift the soul in flight

9. Sweeter than honey, verses expounded
To guide to righteousness in word and belief

10. Revealed with guidance and light in a tongue
That gleamed with eloquent, splendid speech

11. Eras pass but their beauty lasts ever fresh
Clear wording and meaning eternally bright
