1. The virtuous ancestors have passed, their mention fragrant,
So walk as they walked throughout time and act.

2. For what is pride in the past if it has not
From the flourishing present a lofty building.

3. Take with the claws of lions from the arrows of sublimity
A share, for the present today is more ample.

4. The hand of time is not generous with glory to a helpless
Weak one, nor calls out, nor volunteers.

5. And what is the value of homelands if it does not have
"Men" who embrace misery in order to benefit.

6. The wisdom of the world has flowed to people that it
Withstands those who withstood and strives for those who strove.

7. We reaped sorrow when we sowed it wishes
And little is a man's harvest from where he sows.
