١. جفنٌ قريح وفتىً ناحلُ
أرَّقَ عينيهِ هوىً قاتِلُ
2. He cured his lovesickness through my love,
Reviving branches once gone dry.
٢. عالجَ من وجدٍ بهِ عِشرةً
يَيبسُ منها غصنُهُ الذابلُ
3. Each part laments another part,
Preoccupied, all-engrossing pain,
٣. فبعضُهُ يبكي على بعضهِ
وفيه منه شغلٌ شاغلُ
4. Oh he who shuts his lids, show kindness to one who's shut them too,
Both blessed and rejected strayed from love's true course.
٤. يا مدنفَ الأجفانِ صِل مُدنفاً
ضلَّ له المُسعد والعاذلُ
