Since the promise of his burial and opening has been made

12. Can one lifeless in a grave live?
Only one alive dies when he settles into a grave

13. And every person knows the affairs of his life
As for what comes after life, it is not known

14. How many who stole the wealth of orphans in haste
Hoping to gain rewards through the dawn prayer?

15. He walked in the darkness of night seeking his neighbor
To steal the wealth he secured - Glory to He who decreed

16. He prays loudly in the brightness of his day
And steals people's money secretly in his night

17. Will Rinnan and Darwin who uncovered our origin's mystery
Be cast into hell with their bodies and souls languishing?

18. There, suffering humiliation and heat
When their skin is fried, He will create them other skin

19. While Immad al-Din is rewarded with paradise
When all that came to him was shame

20. Since he usurped Sufyan’s wealth and attacked
A truthful one and his villainy killed Umar too

21. Remember your deeds before death, yes
Immad al-Din repented, even if remembrance does not benefit

22. Is this Immad al-Din not the one who attacked
People with fires - if they were to be fair?

23. He passes over prayer and has told
A narrative about a ram whose liver he wants to read

24. A path thin as hair with hell raging
Beneath it - how can one endure this immense heat?

25. So you passer above the path, I fear
This ram throws you into the great abyss

26. Gently, O you - what you have spoken
Does not please this era’s religion or logic

27. Do you not know that the people of our times
Have enlightened religion with their thoughts?

28. Think a little regarding what you have said
For that, if not blasphemy, is worse than it

29. You are ignorant of God's choice - He tortures
Some and grants others favor and gifts

30. We are a people averse to hearing blasphemy
Ringing in our ears, and we stop it

31. Our religion gives us glory among humanity
And pride in faith among all peoples

32. Every nation worships a Creator
Acknowledged by nations who have settled

33. We are content with Allah's religion
Worshipping Him for ages - not worshipping time

34. I saw a beautiful girl on the road
Her glances striking me straight as an arrow

35. She uncovered her face from her veil
I imagined I was looking at the full moon

36. While people were in prayer
Engaged in it while the place was empty

37. Are you the one claiming that if we die
We will not return another time?

38. You deny people's resurrection after death
And refute talk of hashr and nashr in your words

39. I said what will prove to us
That the deceased have a hashr after decay?

40. We have no knowledge proving
Humans have a hashr after decay

41. She spoke, the words piercing her heart
With sorrow, must I silence what you wish to mention?

42. If there was no abode to reward the youth
The good and evil would then be equal

43. When she heard this, she let fall teardrops
Wetting my cheek, neck and chest

44. I regretted what I had neglected with
My evil faith which led me to blasphemy

45. I have spoken falsely in ignorance
God forgive me! O my Creator, forgive me!

He never sees hardship in what He has willed to be

50. Satan made me deviate from the path of guidance
I inclined to the left though my guide was on my right

51. Nothing saddened me like the scene of Gada
Whose guardian was assassinated by the hand of betrayal

52. She spent the night confiding her worries like a dove
Crying through the darkness of night from burning agony

53. She lost her beloved so she raged
Repeating his name with longing sighs

54. I saw a mother bereaved of her only child by injustice
Remaining in endless sorrows and regrets

55. She stood by a loved one torn to pieces
Scratching her face and chest in anguish

56. She wrapped him in new woven shrouds
Buried him and clung to his grave

57. Had her bitter tears not been salty
Their flow would have brought green life to his grave

58. Inconsolable but for her doves
With hardship, then ease she was consoled

59. An old woman who refused to live in her house
After losing her one love, saw it deserted

60. I looked at the Pleiades in the night so it stirred me
Its flickering inspiring me to write a poem

61. I made it brilliant in meaning like them
So I said “Let the poetry suit the Pleiades”

62. I came up with it smoothly, pleasant when heard
Not venturing a difficult path in its composition

63. How can the verse of a poet who has seen
The Gemini stars scattered about him not be sublime?

64. As if a ring-bedecked hand adorned itself
With pearls - how excellent are pearls!

65. To the west I saw a star with a tail of silver
Mixed with yellow, like a comet walking gallantly,

66. Leaving a trace streaking the highest heavens
As if a hand wrote with luminescent ink

67. A line on the illuminated face of the sky
It runs seeking the daylight sun as if

68. It had a message to convey - how gentle its orbit!
Revolving around the sun’s station worshipfully

69. Then returning steps none can relate
Where it goes, none can say
