5. Egypt sends forth stars
Greater in Egypt than Sirius.

6. Egypt is nothing but the source of
Lights, even in ancient times.

7. Iraq is Egypt's brother
Resting on the soft sands.

8. It unloads its sorrows upon it
As one bosom friend unto another.

9. In the East, the most pitiful scene -
The compassion of the sympathetic upon the sympathetic!

10. May the Lord of the Heavens protect them
From every accursed devil.

11. The Nile visited the Two Rivers
To show them intimate affection.

12. Honoring the entire delegation
With a heart sound and well.

13. The days gathered them in
Baghdad like a sturdy necklace.

14. By meeting them my heart was relieved
Of its worries.

15. Despite my old age, I now lightly
Look forward to the breeze.
