1. Under the branches are streams

Narcissus heedless of bees' quips

7. The rose delays its promise yet
While rosebuds in shy clusters set

8. Landscape's tapestry has unfurled
Hilltops alternate, dale and hill

9. Each bird trills its own refrain
Are their songs divine, God-ordained?

10. As if the kindling were fingers lithe
As if the violet were nodding, sleepy

11. As if the lilies were linked in peace
As if carnations were torches, flaming

12. As if the willow were a sword, burnished
As if the convolvulus were swathed

13. As if the waves were chains o'er Euphrates
As if the tall firs were edifices

14. Each plot's a garden, each sight a vision
Beauty of Spring, its flowers ever-present

15. Live! For it is the life-giving season
Joyous evenings, nightingales courting

16. Rays of sun ask, tongue-tied, blushing
World is yours! Live before life passes!
