And become sacrifices for the powerful

For the king before you raised rulers

And humble kings on the throne

Would not cheat people of scales

If you glance a little at our past?

16. An era prosperous with justice is gone
We were happy in its days for a while

17. You have enacted temporary laws
And not implemented lasting ones

18. The hearts of the governors you have sent hardened
As if God created in them no tenderness

19. You see them as foolish regarding interests
And devils regarding corruption

20. With increased injustice, our life is disturbed
Until its water in a cup became mud

21. Justice that could be sought for protection is lost
Between the winks of the briber and the bribed

22. The subjects are sheep whose necks
Are cut by your absolute workers

23. How much they promised reforms
But forgot their promises heedlessly

24. O wicked governor, do not lie despite a promise
For lies are not praiseworthy even if adorned

25. Everyday you witness reprehensible celebrations
By God, I do not like what we have encountered

26. O sun, do not rise upon us
For that fills the heart of the governor with rage

27. And O wind, if you care for our side
Then do not blow in our valleys openly

28. What is upon one content with justice
With a whiff of it, if the winds favor him?

29. O justice, a glance from you makes us happy
O justice, a smile from you suffices us

30. If you are absent from us, life does not taste good
Nor does the breeze comfort us if it blows gently

31. O justice, no beloved whose beauty
Could be harshly discarded by the loving

32. O you whose nights the heedless shortened
Remember we have long nights

33. What effort is there to attain justice closely?
Nothing but wishes we wish

34. Ignorance has departed from our dwellings
And knowledge borne fruit only around us

35. Evil came to us only from our negligence
Injustice spread only from our disregard

36. If all glory lies in ignorance
We would neither gain the world nor faith from it

37. No escape but to undo what has been tied
Stopping oppression with our hands, our hands

38. Those who chose to kill themselves
Fleeing from injustice were not insane

39. Death when God decrees its time is better
Than a life that has become miserable for us
