1. Men's deeds, not words, make nations live,
Not on mere dreams can people thrive.

2. Long we've neglected what we should have done,
Then blamed our days for what we've not begun,

3. What good is life to a people who
Cannot act to fulfil or renew?

4. No peace in the East with calmness rife
Like peace in West full of strife.

5. We hesitate while others dare
And hesitation's not like dare.

6. Nothing exposes our defects like
The contact of diverse intellects.

7. Unless we hasten with strong resolve,
The hasteners will trample with bold.

8. O people, if you wish to live, go forward,
Ever forward to progress award.

9. Some men trust in idols, not Allah,
And some in Allah, not in idols.

10. My words may hold some ambiguity,
I leave their clarity to nights and days.

11. Many ideas died inside their heads
Like flowers tucked in their beds.

12. Not all men truly men, for some
Just live like cattle, deaf and dumb.

13. The ignorant frown before my face,
I greet their frowns with a smile and grace,

14. They promise me paradise after death,
Would that paradise were before death!

15. Reason sees clearly his right path,
After being orator in the dark.

16. Man is but a bubble in brief,
Vanishing into the dark like a leaf.

17. The earth in the sky a speck minute,
Stirred by soft winds she revolts.

18. Without the tails of suns she'd stray
Erratically astray.

19. The sun, its planets, and the earth
Are like a sailing ship of great worth.

20. The swelling sea enhances its awe,
With inventions raised like flags and law.

21. The stars are like bees in the hive
Of the endless, expanding jive.

22. Every nebula spins and rolls,
With suns crammed in like ripened foals.

23. You wrong, O life, to think that man
Is lost in space like meteors wander.

24. You exist everywhere in the span,
Dispersed in every place and clan.

25. That animals evolved into men,
After centuries of growth is clear when

26. In embryos still in the womb
Continued progress resumes.

27. A nation of ape ancestors came
To find Mecca from sunsets aflame.

28. Asked for peace in life's terrain
Though they knew no peace could reign.

29. By the sword they grabbed their nation,
Marching forth to war's temptation.

30. Think deeply, progress only lies
In discord between civilized.

31. Each living thing imperfect made,
Evolving slowly to upgrade.

32. No mind can believe the soul will live
Beyond the body that it gives.

33. The philosopher smiles at notions
Madmen mouth without reasoned potions.

34. Perhaps matter feels pleasure and pain,
Not just life that's insane.

35. Minds lose purpose in the mess,
Like arrows shot in blindness.

36. Life's but light hemmed in by night,
With darkness blotting out her might.

37. Beyond doubts is just belief
Hidden by clouds like the moon in grief.

38. Soon time will uncover and dredge
The unclear parts knowledge edge.

39. I envision in the distance water,
May reach it some day after.

40. I think truth will show her face one day,
Drawing her cover away.

41. In my misery only one thing revives-
Remembrance of Laila breathes and thrives.
