1. O soul of this world
I am but a spark of you

2. That sought to reveal
Itself and make known

3. That my ray entirely
Comes from that brilliance

4. You are the universe that
Has brought into being all that is

5. You are the mind that
Implanted order in it

6. O what an architect you are
Who built the world and all that passes

7. With consummate wisdom and skill
You made it most excellent

8. I am none but you made conscious
So are you me?

9. From you I emerged after
I lay hidden in you for eons

10. I was at times unseen
At others manifest

11. And I will remain bound to you
After passing away

12. My death is but a change
Of dwelling place in you

13. In my transitions
From you to you

14. There is no separation
Whether here or there

15. For space is but an extent
You made room for, and time

16. Life is but a flash
From you that hid us

17. All that I see in you
I see with my eyes as beautiful

18. No wonder mankind worships
Idols in you

19. You built the universe
And you are best of builders

20. By you existence is necessary
It cannot suffer destruction

21. Nor is there a universe
That you did not first design

22. It is you who willed that
We do good or evil

23. And you who made us
Unbelievers or believers

24. If I am compelled to sin
Is it I who sinned?

25. Were we not, when you decreed
For us, an excellent example?

26. God does not burden a soul
Beyond what it can bear

27. Eternal hellfire is not
Light punishment

28. My fear of its flames
Stirs in me sorrows

29. While doubts about His mercy
Wound my heart full of gashes
